Python is an interpreted, interactive, object-oriented programming language and combines remarkable power with very clear syntax.   • Nexuiz
    Nexuiz is a fast-paced, chaotic, and intense multiplayer first person shooter, focused on providing basic, old style deathmatch. The 1.0 release weighs in at 161MB, and includes 17 maps, 28 playable characters, and 10 music tracks. It is cross-platform, and supports Windows and Linux (x86 and x86_64), with Mac support coming soon (patch to be released in the next few days).
  • Nethack
    NetHack is a single player dungeon exploration game that runs on a wide variety of computer systems, with a variety of graphical and text interfaces all using the same game engine. Unlike many other Dungeons & Dragons-inspired games, the emphasis in NetHack is on discovering the detail of the dungeon and not simply killing everything in sight - in fact, killing everything in sight is a good way to die quickly. Each game presents a different landscape - the random number generator provides an essentially unlimited number of variations of the dungeon and its denizens to be discovered by the player in one of a number of characters: you can pick your race, your role, and your gender.
  • Hearse for Nethack
    Hearse is a utility to allow Nethack users to share bones files. Some other roguelikes are also supported. Transporting the dead, so you don't have to.
  • Battle for Wesnoth
    The Battle for Wesnoth is a free, turn-based strategy game with a fantasy theme. The world of Wesnoth is absolutely huge and limited only by your creativity - make your own custom units, compose your own maps, and write your own scenarios or even full-blown campaigns. You can also challenge up to 8 friends - or strangers - and fight in epic multi-player fantasy battles.
  • Angband
    It's a freeware computer dungeon exploration game based (loosely) on the books of J.R.R.Tolkien. You explore a very deep dungeon, kill monsters, try to equip yourself with the best weapons and armor you can find, and finally face Morgoth - "The Dark Enemy". Angband has a very long history. It started 1990 as an improved and "Tolkienized" variant of Moria. Moria itself was created in 1985 and was inspired by Rogue (from the late 70s). Countless changes were introduced by many programmers on the way to the current versions of Angband.
  • Ultima Classics Revisited
    UCR is a project to remake the engines for Ultima 0 through Ultima 3 and loaders for UW* and U4+ with the goal of making it more convenient and enjoyable to play these classics. UCR features optionally upgraded graphics and is executable natively on modern computers (*nix, windows, mac, etc). All the engines (except for Akalabeth, which was converted 100% from the original basic source code) require an installed copy of the original games.
  • SDL_Paradroid
    SDL_Para is a port of the Classic C64 game Paradroid. It has been updated to run on most machines without needing a emulator of any sort. I needed a project to work on while learning SDL and programming, and when I had a C64 I couldn't stop playing Paradroid.
  • FreeDroid
    THE CLASSICAL FREEDROID: Freedroid is a clone of the classic game "Paradroid" on Commodore 64 with some improvements and extensions to the classic version.
  • Nazghul CRPG
    Nazghul is a computer role-playing game (CRPG) engine. Obviously, the emphasis is not on graphics or first-person squad-based stealth action. If you like roguelikes or the top-down, 2d, turn-based CRPG's that disappeared in the early 90's then this is for you.
  • GLtron
    You steer a futuristic bike, called lightcycle. Combat takes place in a rectangular arena. Your bike leaves a trail behind, which is like a wall. The goal is to force the other players to drive into a wall. The winner is the last player alive.
  • Armagetron
    In this game, you ride a lightcycle around the game grid. You can only make sharp turns of 90 degrees and a wall constantly builds up after you. Make your enemies crash into your wall, but be aware that they are trying to do the same to you. Only if you are fast enough, you may be able to trap them; but the only way to speed up your lightcycle is to drive close to the dangerous walls. Prepare for exciting strategic preparations followed by action-packed close combat!
  • Neverball
    Tilt the floor to roll a ball through an obstacle course before time runs out. Neverball is part puzzle game, part action game, and entirely a test of skill.
  • Lost Labyrinth
    Lost Labyrinth ist ein sogenanntes "roguelike"-Computerspiel (irgendwie gibt's da keine passende deutsche Übersetzung).
  • Phobia III
    Marine (you) vs. Aliens (lot's of them) - very hard - very good
  • OVERKILL - hell in ASCII
    0verkill is bloody 2D action deathmatch-like game in ASCII-ART running under Linux, OS/2 and Windows.
